This past Tuesday, Microsoft shipped new updates for it’s Microsoft Surface and Microsoft Surface to address quality issues that had cropped up since each of the tablet’s launches.

In addition to improved solid-state drive performance, the Surface Pro has also received updates intended to resolve touch screen issues when booting from the device’s UEFI settings menu, connectivity issues when using the Surface Type and Touch keyboards, and an issue that caused airplane mode to disable the device’s Wi-Fi drivers entirely.

All of the Surface RT’s updates are related to it’s Wi-Fi card. These updates address issues related to wireless range, little to no connectivity, and system crashes caused by other Wi-Fi issues.

These updates, which are available via Windows 8 and Windows RT  settings under ‘update’ should go a long way in improving the performance of Microsoft’s first generation of tablets.
