Destiny developer Bungie didn’t exactly earn a lot of respect from Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners when it announced that the owners of Sony’s PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 consoles would get priority access to the Destiny Beta. That Xbox owners have to pay the same amount for the game’s first two expansion packs while not receiving as much content as other users didn’t exactly help either. There is good news though, today Bungie announced that it’s getting the Destiny Beta up and running for Xbox One and Xbox 360 users this afternoon, a full day before it was scheduled to arrive.

Bungie began emailing Xbox One and Xbox 360 users their Destiny Beta codes this afternoon. Once users have a code they’ll need to redeem that code online at Xbox.com or on their console here. Only users who have pre-ordered the game or were lucky enough to receive a pre-order code from a friend can take part in the Destiny Beta.

In addition to getting out the Destiny Beta early, Bungie also says that it has a permanent reward planned for users participants online this coming Saturday at 2PM Pacific Time.

The final version of the first-person shooter with online multiplayer elements arrives on September 9th. When it does, it’ll be available for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. There isn’t a Windows PC version of the game planned.
