Late last night Microsoft announced that the August Xbox One Update it made available to Xbox One Preview Program members last month, is now available for all users.

Microsoft began rolling out the August Xbox One Update to users this week, according to Xbox Wire. To be clear, the August Xbox One Update isn’t the update that adds streaming television for SmartGlass apps, or the new Friends area to the home screen. That honor is reserved for the September Xbox One Update. Instead, the August Xbox One Update adds commenting, sharing and posting status updates for all Xbox Live users. Following the update users can also purchase games and downloadable content through one of the Xbox One SmartGlass too. When they do that content will be waiting on their Xbox One when they arrive home — provided they have the console’s low-power mode enabled.

To manually update your Xbox One, open the Settings app and head to System. If the update is available for your console you’ll be able to start the update immediately. Users who have automatic updates enabled should find their console has already been updated whenever they turn the console on next.
