Sometimes the good die young, and Aaron Sorkin’s The Newsroom is about to be put out to pasture. You’d think with the stakes this high and only six episodes coming before the end HBO would be building hype for the journalism drama series with flashy advertisements and all the action words they could find. Instead, the network is taking a very different approach in teasing the final season of The Newsroom.
Revealed last night, the trailer for Season 3 of The Newsroom is almost mute. There isn’t a single inspirational quote, no Jeff Daniels declaring America has fallen from its perch as the best country ever. Instead there’s a simple copy machine, printing Daneils’ lines as series star Will McAvoy from last season.
The Newsroom starts its third and final season this November. When it does, it’ll be available on HBO Go for the Xbox 360, iPhone, iPad and more. Presumably, by then the HBO Go app for the Xbox One that Microsoft promised users last November will be available too.
