Now that Windows Phone Mango is out the door, whats a group of smartphone geeks who crave the best in mobile to do with their attention and reservoir of anticipation? First you could turn to Nokia CES Keynote, or you could take a gander at the roadmap leaked to WMPowerUser that details release windows for the next version of Windows Phone.
Remember back when we old had faith that Microsoft was working on an entire line of Zunes? Remember when we all had faith that Microsoft knew what it was doing in the consumer media player market? Let us take you back to a time in 2009 when apparently the Zune HD had a little brother.
We’ve heard rumors for a little under five or six months now that Microsoft might be phasing out the Zune brand in favor of renaming it services and aligning them with either Xbox or Zune, and while we have been indifferent on the matter thus far the fact that Microsoft is hiring a Business Manager for the “Xbox Live Music Marketplace” may send a few people to the it could happen side of things.
We don’t file news stories much in our ‘speculation’ hats so forgive us if we’re a little rusty but here it goes. According to the description of Microsoft’s topics during the MIX conference, we may be mere months away from some kind of announcement on “forthcoming generations of Windows phones and Zune devices”. Yep, we thought that would get your attention.
