Zune Marketplace Launching in India? (Only Apps)

It seems someone may have flipped a switch a little early but their mistake is India’s gain: The “Zune” Marketplace is now available in India.

Sometime last night or early this morning the Applications marketplace went live in the Zune Software for users in India allowing them to browse and more importantly trial the latest apps for Windows Phone 7, hence why we used quotation marks. This doesn’t mean that you’ll be jamming in Zune Pass, or even buying DRM free MP3s just yet. but here’s to hoping that functionality comes soon.

We’ve asked for words from Microsoft PR, and will post the inevitable press release once we receive it.
