Say you are an owner of a shiny Xbox 360 but own an iPhone or iPad. Instead of purchasing a Windows Phone because of it’s Xbox LIVE integration apparently Microsoft is perfectly happy coming to you.

According to MajorNelson.com; Xbox LIVE on iOS includes the ability to read and send messages to friends, manage your friends list, and customize your avatar. Still he’s careful to note that the newly minted Xbox Companion for Windows Phone has more features, but we aren’t buying the excuse.  Starting right now iPhone owners can pickup Xbox LIVE for iOS for free in the iTunes App Store.
