While Xbox One gamers already knew that they’d be able to get their hands on Microsoft’s next-generation gaming console before the Christmas holidays in at least thirteen markets, they now officially have a specific day to mark out their calendars.
In a post to it’s Xbox News blog, Microsoft has confirmed that users can expect the Day One edition of the Xbox One to go on sale beginning November 22nd — a week before the holiday shipping season kicks off in the United States for Black Friday.
Other than a slightly faster CPU and GPU bump the console itself will be identical to the device Microsoft began showing off in late May. On the software side of things, Microsoft has announced a number of changes since it first started discussing the new console in detail including it’s decision to not require all games to be installed on the device’s hard drive, and the ability to disable the Kinect sensor that’s included with every Xbox One.
The Xbox One is currently available for pre-order from Amazon and other retailers for $499.
