Xbox Music, games & more? Xbox E3 2014 Media Briefing on June 9th

If you’re an Xbox One, Xbox 360 or even an Xbox Music user its time to get excited. The United States biggest gaming show of the year, the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2014, starts on June 10th and Microsoft has confirmed that it’ll hold its regular Xbox-related briefing on the day before.

Microsoft confirmed that it’ll be holding its E3 2014 media briefing on June 9th earlier today, also noting that it will host a sort of pre-show at 9am, just before the event kicks off at 9:30 am. We don’t yet know how long the briefing will last.

We do know that users won’t have to be there in person to find out about the latest feature additions and changes to the Xbox ecosystem. Microsoft says that users will be able to watch on the Xbox website, on their Windows Phone and on the Xbox One and Xbox 360. Those near a television set will be able to watch on Spike TV as well.

Historically, Microsoft has used its briefing to set the immediate priorities for it going into the following holiday season. Microsoft announced it’d be morphing Zune into Xbox Music at its 2012 briefing and last year it unveiled the Xbox Entertainment Studios, an in-house video content creator that isn’t too different from Netflix Originals. Xbox Head Phil Spencer has made it clear that he expects to show off more games than the company did at last year’s briefing.
