‘Quantum Break’ coming exclusively for Xbox One in 2015

It is with a heavy heart that we bring you the latest news on Quantum Break, the much talked about Xbox One exclusive game that Microsoft showed off at last year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo. First the good news: the game footage Microsoft showed off this afternoon looks just as good as it did last year. Unfortunately, a Quantum Break release date wont come until next year.

Microsoft and developer Remedy Studios announced a few more details about the game on Microsoft’s Xbox Wire blog this morning. As for the game itself, not much seems to have changed. Quantum Break players will use their ability to manipulate time to save the world.

That being said there are a few interesting bits of information we didn’t have last year. Remedy will use the same episodic format in Quantum Break that it did for Alan Wake. The game will be broken down into small chunks that users can consume in a few hours and then move onto the next, presumably.

The game follows “Quantum Break’s” hero, Jack Joyce, as he desperately struggles to prevent the end of time, while the show revolves around the conspiracies and intrigue within the villainous corporation called Monarch Solutions, Jack’s main enemy. Together, they form an intertwining narrative where the actions you take directly impact how the story across both the game and the show unfolds.

Microsoft and Remedy say they’ll have more to share about Quantum Break at this year’s GamesCom event in Germany. As such, Microsoft is unlikely to show anything at this year’s E3 press briefing on June 9th.
