No one does video game hype and public relations like the team at 343 Industries. With Halo 5: The Guardians not due for release until sometime next year, Microsoft and it’s subsidiary is beating the streets to promote Halo: The Master Chief Collection. You might expect the company to throw out a commercial or to in support of John 117’s arrival on the Xbox One. Instead, last Friday Microsoft rolled out Remaking The Legend: Halo 2 Anniversary. It’s an hour long documentary that anyone can watch right now for free.
Remaking The Legend does exactly what its intended to do: make you want Halo: The Master Chief Collection and its Halo 2: Anniversary game like an overweight ogre wants a mask. Viewers go inside the game making process, from folly artists, to sound mixers to the team in charge of refreshing every cut scene. For those who like seeing how the proverbial sausage is made, there are worst ways to spend an hour.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection launches on the Xbox One November 11th. It’s available for pre-order through the Xbox Store right now. We’ve taken the liberty of embedded the YouTube video above.
