Gamers who had spent the better part of the Xbox One’s early life-cycle excited for the next game from the studio that developed Alan Wake for the Xbox 360 are having a hard morning. Just hours ago Remedy announced that Quantum Break wouldn’t be launching until 2016 at the earliest.
A short statement on Remedy’s website revealed the new Quantum Break release date. In that statement Microsoft Studios’ Head of Publishing says that Quantum Break is being moved to extend Microsoft’s upcoming releases into the new year. Quantum Break is an adventure game with a bit of science fiction mixed in. The main character of the game users time manipulation to defeat foes around them and uncover a conspiracy.
Quantum Break had been part of Microsoft’s somewhat hectic line-up of exclusive games coming later this year. Also launching later this year is Rise of the Tomb Raider and Halo 5 Guardians. Rise of the Tomb Raider is just a console exclusive that’ll likely come to Sony’s PS4 in 2016. Halo 5: Guardians is completely exclusive to Microsoft’s Xbox One console and is scheduled to launch on October 27th. All three games were included in our round up of 2015 Xbox One games to look out for.
