Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 drops on November 6th

We’re finally learning more about Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, and it has people thinking a lot about another first-person shooter that’s already available on current generation gaming systems like the Xbox One: Titanfall.

Publisher Activision and developer Treyarch formally announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 in a post and reveal trailer over the weekend. The trailer focuses more on the biomechanical enhancements that were hinted at in a teaser trailer late last week. Mainly, it’s roughly three minutes of arms turning into machine guns, wall running and insanely high jumping. These cybernetic enhancements will allow campaign and multiplayer users to take down enemies from any angle quickly. In the campaign users will finally get to choose their gender. Sprinting is something that absolutely anyone can do for as long as they want. In these ways footage from Call of Duty Black Ops 3 looks an awful lot like what you get with Titanfall, which also takes place in the future and also focuses on technology to enable a fast-paced game experience.

Call of Duty: Zombies is back with its own story mode.

The main highlights from the multiplayer revolve around customization and characters. Specialists will turn the traditional multiplayer character selection process on its head. Instead of nameless characters, players can look forward to nine different team members to choose from. Each of these new members have their own unique ability and a weapon they prefer to use. Activision told Polygon that they also have their own backstories. Players can customize their weapons with different add-ons, according to today’s press release.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will only be available on the Xbox One, Windows PCs and Sony’s PlayStation 4. Activision is planning a Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 beta for anyone who pre-orders the game ahead of release.
