Microsoft’s 343 Industries is just a week away from releasing Halo 5: Guardians on Xbox One and the studio is giving players the opportunity to dress their Spartans for success this Monday morning. Beginning today, anyone can log into Halo Waypoint and customize their character’s armor ahead of the game’s launch.
As of right now, anyone with a Microsoft Account can log into the Halo Waypoint website and begin tricking out their Spartan. Halo 5: Guardians lets players earn different REQ points to spend on REQ Cards which add armor, visors weapons and helmets to their character. If memory serves correctly, Halo players have been able to see their characters and stats online for years, but never customize them there.
Because new clothes are just the first steps to making friends, 343 Industries is also opening up what it calls Spartan Companies today on Waypoint. At its core, Spartan Companies is a clan system. Anyone can create a Spartan Company, complete with its own name, emblem and color scheme. Each Spartan Company can hold up to 100 different players. After joining a Spartan Company 343 Industry gifts gamers a REQ Pack containing some new armor.
See, new clothes and new friends just like the first day of the fall semester. Halo 5: Guardians launches on the Xbox One October 27th. I’ll save the rest of my Breakfast Club moves until then.
