The Seagate Game Drive for Xbox SSD vanquishes load times and maybe your wallet

The Seagate Game Drive for Xbox SSD adds a ton of storage to your Xbox One X without sticking you with terrible loading times. If you have way a lot of Xbox One X Enhanced games in your library, this may be the most important accessory announcement to come out of E3 2018.

Set to launch sometime later this summer, the Seagate Game Drive for Xbox SSD is an external hard drive that looks a lot like the Xbox One X. Solid-state storage capable of reaching speeds up to 540MB/s is what makes the no-compromise experience possible. For comparison, Seagate’s basic Game Drive only reaches speeds of up to 140MB/s. The faster your storage, the faster the Xbox One X can load your game.

The only things you stand to lose by buying the Seagate Game Drive for Xbox SSD are the rectangular pieces of paper from your wallet or a few zeroes from your bank account. This drive is for the performance lovers, just like the Xbox One X. As such, it will cost more than the average external drive. The 2TB model will cost $600, and the 1TB model will cost $300. A 500GB Seagate Game Drive for Xbox SSD will sell for $150.
