We’ll get a look at Apple’s Netflix rival on March 25th, it seems

Are you looking for yet another place to stream all the TV shows other people will be talking about at work? No, of course, you aren’t. That isn’t going to stop Apple from revealing its own alternative to Netflix on March 25th at 10 AM Pacific Time.

Apple sent invitations to an event to iMore, 9 to 5 Mac, The Verge, and other large tech websites today. As the industry anticipated, Apple will use this event to reveal its video streaming service. At least, the tagline on the invitation declares “It’s show time.” The company is either revealing a video service or planning to create its own traveling circus.

Though I haven’t talked about it much here, the wider entertainment industry has known about the untitled Apple streaming service for some time now. The company has been hoarding shows for ages, one of which stars Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston as morning show hosts. What’s unclear is how much the service will cost. There are analysts who believe Apple will let users watch their exclusive shows for free. However, the general consensus is that Apple will at least charge something for its best content.
