First Major Xbox One Update Incoming

If there was ever any doubt that Microsoft would back up the Xbox One’s solid hardware with frequent software updates the company is putting them to rest immediately. Today it announced not just one but two Xbox One updates that’ll address user complaints and add new features.

Detailed today on Xbox Wire, Microsoft says that the first of these updates, which is scheduled to arrive on February 11th, will include a few fixes to improve the company’s now current-generation console. Users can expect the update to add a new battery meter, storage management options, tweaks to Kinect’s voice commands, an updated view in the My Apps and Games area that separates apps from games and USB keyboard support. On March 4 Microsoft will release another Xbox One update that brings improvements for the console’s Party app.

Microsoft might be announcing these updates right now, but it’s not sharing everything about them just yet. According to today’s post, both updates contains other surprise features that Microsoft will share more information about “in the coming weeks.”

As February 11th is next Tuesday, we’d say the company will share more about that first update sooner than later.
