New Blue Xbox 360 appears with bundles in tow for the holidays

We haven’t hit Columbus Day here in the United States, but already Microsoft is preparing for a fierce holiday shopping season. This morning the company revealed three new Xbox 360 holiday bundles, including one that’ll have a blue Xbox 360 inside.

Announced on the company’s Xbox Wire news blog, the blue Xbox 360 will include 500GB of storage, a matching controller, one month of Xbox Live, Call of Duty: Ghosts and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 for just $249.99. This Blue Xbox 360 will only be available at Wal-Mart, putting a damper on the holiday season for any collector who has something against the world’s largest retailer. A bundle that includes everything here but is just black will make its way to other retail stores for $249.99 as well.

An additional Xbox 360 + Kinect bundle with Kinect Adventures, Kinect Sports and Forza Horizon will also arrive on stores shelves in just a few weeks. It too will cost $249, but potential buyers will want to factor in an external hard drive since it’ll only come with 4GB of storage.

Microsoft say the Xbox 360 Call of Duty bundle that isn’t blue should begin arriving in stores next week, the blue Xbox 360 for Wal-Mart customers won’t be available until October 7th. The Xbox 360 + Kinect bundle will be exclusive to Target. All consoles in these holiday bundles are based on the Xbox 360e that Microsoft revealed last year. It includes HDMI video out and wireless internet access.
