As North America finally starts to thaw out from its winter deep freeze, Microsoft is hoping that a refreshed basic Xbox One bundle will get shoppers in stores to upgrade to its latest console. Beginning this month, the $349 Xbox One bundle will come with a free copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
Microsoft accounted the new Halo: The Master Chief Collection Xbox One bundle this afternoon on Xbox Wire. The console included in the bundle is the same console that users get today when they purchase the $349 Assassin’s Creed Unity Xbox One bundle. It has 500GB of storage and no special etching or designs. There’s no Kinect 2 sensor either, leaving users to purchase that separately with a copy of Dane Central Spotlight for $150 if they want live television integration, motion gaming and voice commands. Every Xbox One comes with a chat headset, wireless controller, power cable and an HDMI cable.
Launched last fall, Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a combination of the story and multiplayer modes from Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4. Each has been slightly upgraded for the Xbox One, but Halo 2 is a complete remake with better cut-scenes and an updated soundtrack.
Microsoft already has the Halo: The Master Chief Collection Xbox One bundle available from its Microsoft Store retail site.
