Microsoft makes temporary Xbox One price cut permanent

In addition to announcing an Xbox One with double the storage of its predecessor, Microsoft is also making the Xbox One price cut it first introduced during the holiday season a permanent fixture on store shelves.

In the same post as it announced the new 1TB Xbox One on Xbox Wire, Microsoft confirmed that the $350 Xbox One that its offered since late November will stick around for the foreseeable future. “We’re also pleased to announce that starting today, the $349 USD price on all standard Xbox One 500GB consoles will be permanent in the United States and select regions,” the press release reads.

Costing $399, obviously 1TB Xbox One buyers are saving in the long run. 500GB Xbox One users should find themselves in need of a USB hard drive to store new games to avoid deleting favorites any day now. Microsoft hasn’t said if the 500GB Xbox One and Xbox One + Kinect bundles will include the revamped Xbox One Wireless Controller. The controller that those consoles ship with today forces users to purchase a Stereo Headset adapter to use their own headphones with the console.

Microsoft hasn’t made any pricing changes to the $499 Xbox One with Kinect sensor bundle.
