Another week has gone, and another game for you to add to your gaming wishlist has been announced. Square Enix didn’t just confirm Shadow of the Tomb Raider this morning. The publisher also revealed the game is set to arrive this September. Folks, Make room in those pre-order carts.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider arrives on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PCs running Windows on September 14th. It’s the direct sequel to the rebooted series that began in 2013 and continued with Rise of the Tomb Raider. I liked both games, but found Rise to be a little more enjoyable than the 2013 game. Mainly, that’s because that game’s story wasn’t as repetitive.
What we don’t know much about Shadow of the Tomb Raider today. Square Enix says that it will reveal the game to the world on April 27th. The publisher also released a very short teaser trailer you can watch above. Mayan temples appear in the trailer, so we know the exotic location we’re going to in this new game.
Surprisingly, this game is the last game in this rebooted series, according to Square Enix. It’s not clear if the publisher plans to let the series rest until it feels demand has climbed again or introduce another trilogy that doesn’t have Camilla Luddington playing Lara Croft. Luddington, a TV and film actress herself, isn’t playing Lara in the Tomb Raider movie that arrives in theaters this week.
