All at once you could hear it. Millions of Xbox users all rushing to comment on the games Microsoft plans to hand out free to Xbox Live Gold users through its Games With Gold promotion. With games like Dishonored & Crimson Dragon, whether you’re disappointed may just come down to taste.
Microsoft announced all four of August’s Games With Gold titles in a post on MajorNelson, the company’s second-hand Xbox news outlet. As of August 1st, Xbox One users with an Xbox Live Gold subscription will be able to download full copies of Crimson Dragon and Strike Suit Zero. These games will replace both Max: The Curse of Brotherhood and Guacamelee, the former of which has been available to users for free for the past two months.
Xbox 360 users can expect Motocross Madness to be available for free with an Xbox Live Gold subscription in early August. On August 15th they’ll get access to Dishonored for free. All told, it’s not a terrible line-up of free titles — provided you weren’t expecting to get something like Halo: The Master Chief Collection at no charge.
Xbox 360 users who take advantage of the Games With Gold Program get to keep Dishonored and Motocross Madness forever. Crimson Dragon and Strike Suit Zero will disappear if Xbox One users stop paying for Xbox Live.
