Microsoft is giving potential buyers of its Xbox One console new reasons to clean out their bank account or warm up their credit card over the next few months. In addition to offering four different bundles — two of which include a custom colored Xbox One — the company is slashing prices on all of its consoles by $50.
Microsoft announced the new Xbox One price in a press release last week on its Xbox Wire news blog, just hours after leaks of a K-Mart ad indicated that it would cut the cost of the console.
Starting yesterday every version of the Xbox One sold in the United States is $50 off and that includes the Assassin’s Creed Unity Xbox One bundle, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Xbox One bundle and the Sunset Overdrive Xbox One bundle. As each one of those bundles normally cost $399, this takes them down to just $349. That’s $150 less than what the Xbox One with Kinect sold for around this time last year and $50 less than Sony’s PlayStation 4 console sells for today.
Microsoft is also giving buyers $50 the Xbox One with Kinect bundles that are normally priced at $499.
If you’re considering taking advantage of this deal, timing is important. Microsoft says it and its retail partners will stop offering the $50 discount on Xbox One consoles on January 3rd. Thankfully, you won’t have to travel far to get the cheaper pricing. Besides the Microsoft Store, Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart and GameStop are all carrying the new Xbox One bundles with cheaper pricing. Also, so is Amazon for all who’d prefer to have their stuff gift wrapped and delivered.
