Microsoft is offering up D4: Dreams Don’t Die and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings to Xbox Live Gold users through its Xbox Live Games with Gold program this coming January.
Microsoft announced the January 2014 Xbox Live Games with Gold titles in a post on its Xbox Wire news blog this morning. D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die focuses on a police officer trying to cope with the death of his beloved wife. Using time travel, David Young — the game’s protagonist — does everything in his power to get to the truth. D4 has a very strange, very interesting art style that’s sure to catch some Xbox One owners off guard. Normally, the game would cost $15.99.
Those with an Xbox 360 will be able to download The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. Of course, it’s the magical role-playing game set to get a sequel early next year. The Witcher 2 would normally costs $30. MX vs. ATV Alive is all about off-road motorcross racing. It’ll be MX vs. ATV Alive that kicks off January’s downloads for the Xbox 360. The Witcher 2 won’t be available until January 16th.
Of course, you’ll need an Xbox Live Gold account to download either of these games your console at no cost. An Xbox Live subscription costs $9.99 a month or $60 a year. You don’t need separate Gold accounts for the Xbox One and Xbox 360. That being said, games provided to users through the program on the Xbox One stop working once an Xbox Live Gold account has expired. Xbox 360 users get to keep the games they download through the program.
