Rockstar Games, maker of the Grand Theft Auto franchise, finally revealed when owners of GTA 5 can expect the Online Heists missions that they were promised.
Rockstar announced the release date for Online Heists this morning in a post on its Rockstar Newswire blog. On March 10th owners of GTA 5 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 will be able to team up with fellow players to take on detailed online missions. Instead of being one-off tasks to completely, Online Heists will require that players work together to pull off each step of the process. The player who puts the crew together will need to finance the entire operation and won’t receive a pay off until the Online Heist has been completed. All other players in the Online Heists will receive pay offs as they complete different parts of the mission. Rockstar revealed Online Heists last year, but then went silent on them when they took longer than expected to deliver. To be clear, Online Heists are for GTA Online the free multiplayer experience that comes with copies of GTA 5.
Rockstar used today’s post on its blog to also reveal another delayed release date for Grand Theft Auto 5 for Windows PCs. That version of the game is now expected on April 14th. Rockstar is giving those who’ve pre-ordered the PC version an additional $200,000 in in-game cash.
