Great news if you were just starting to get over last year’s release of Gears of War Ultimate Edition. The Coalition is just roughly a month away from the Gears of War 4 Beta release that Microsoft promised everyone some time back.
Microsoft confirmed details surrounding the Gears of War 4 Beta and more this morning in a post on Xbox Wire. Gears of War 4 is set to be this year’s must-have game on Xbox One. We know that the final game is planned for launch sometime in 2016, which is why Microsoft began teasing the Gears of War 4 Beta last summer when Gears of War Ultimate Edition went on sale.
The Gears of War 4 Beta is scheduled to kick off on April 18th and last until April 24th. This Early Access session will be for anyone that purchased or purchases Gears of War Ultimate Edition before April 11th. On April 25th Microsoft will begin the Gears of War 4 Open Beta. This testing period will last until May 1st. Anyone with a subscription to Xbox Live Gold will get the opportunity to take part.
Incidentally, Gears of War 4 is already a hot topic of discussion amongst gamers. Game Informer has a cover story on the third-person shooter this month. That story includes details about the game’s new cast of characters, multiplayer impressions and an update on what’ll be included in the game at launch. There’s a special tidbit in the cover story about the main protagonist of Gears of War 4 being related to someone very special from the previous Gears of War games.
Gears of War 4 is only coming to Xbox One.
