Editorial Policy
Last Revised November 9th
At enConnected we strive to bring you the latest in entertainment news and gaming information. We want to provide you with the reviews you need to read and the news you need to know in a timely fashion. We compile themed playlists and seek out comments on subjects that you care about. We do all of this in the hope that you’ll navigate away from the site in a more informed and happier state than when you arrived.
You can’t achieve those goals if there isn’t trust between us and you, the reader. That is why this document exists; the enConnected Editorial Policy is the standard by which we do things. It’s a catalogue of the things we will do and ethical dilemmas we won’t go anywhere near.
Ownership
Ownership
Simply put, we don’t take ownership stakes or purchase stock in the companies we cover extensively. For now that extends to Microsoft, who is our main company of focus. In the future this will include other companies as we grow.
Travel Accommodations
Travel Accommodations
In some situations we do except paid travel accommodations. When we’re covering an event and those expense have been covered we do share that information with you, the reader. Any reviews for products from companies that have paid for travel have disclosures at the bottom before the review score saying that we accepted travel accommodations.
Reviews
Reviews
The overwhelming majority of reviews are completed with media purchased by enConnected. That being said, there are times when we’re given products to review by individual companies. We do except review code and hardware. That being said, there will never be a review written and presented on this site that doesn’t indicate whether it was produced with a review unit. This information is available at the bottom of each review if applicable.
Today, this document covers the situations that have presented some issues for more established sites in the past. As we grow and understand the business more we’ll add to this.
