Sure, House of Cards and Orange is the New Black are winning all kinds of awards, however it couldn’t hurt Netflix to through add a little variety into its original programming. Of course, when we say variety, we didn’t exactly mean that a documentary about children golfers, but as The Short Game, the upcoming documentary from Netflix, has won a couple of awards of its own, we’ll leave that to you to decide.
The Short Game follows along as kids begin training to take on the putting greens currently dominated by Nike-clad pro golfers with adult caddies and funny socks. Seriously, the preview for the documentary actually makes a good case for it being compelling television. Netflix has already announced its second originally produced documentary as well. The Square follows Egyptians as they take over Tahrir Square to push for reforms and better government. Netflix hasn’t yet set a date for that documentaries’ premiere.
The Short Game premieres on Netflix on December 12th.
