If you’re committed to purchasing NBA 2K16 than video game developer 2K Games wants to reward you for your bravery. Anyone who pre-orders the game ahead of its release will get to play their copy the weekend before everyone else who didn’t pre-order NBA 2K16 can.
2K Games announced what it is calling Early Tip-Off Weekend on the NBA 2K profile for social network Facebook earlier this week. Anyone who purchases NBA 2K16 from a participating retailer will be able to play the game without issue on September 25th. That’s four complete days before the official NBA 2K16 release date on September 29th. In addition, early NBA 2K16 buyers get 10,000 in virtual currency to use in the game and a MyTeam VIP.
Right now, the only retailer confirmed to be offering Early Tip-Off Weekend access is GameStop, thought its hard to imagine that it won’t spread to other retailers like Target and Best Buy. NBA 2K16 includes an updated roster and career mode helmed by famed movie director and writer Spike Lee.
Whether pre-ordering any game ahead of release is a good comes down to your own circumstances, but it seems odd to take advantage of them if there aren’t tangible extras. 2K Games has at least solved that problem with this early release.
