During Microsoft’s briefing this morning they announced a few different living room initiatives to put the Xbox at the center of everyone’s media experience. Chief among them? YouTube!
From Microsoft
“Available fall 2011, YouTube on Xbox LIVE will deliver access to great Web original content from around the world, including the latest videos, gaming tips and more.”
Just like that, the battle for living room dominance is over. With Hulu, Netflix, Zune, and now YouTube, why would you want to buy anything else?
Is it just me? Or is microsoft doing everything they can to avoid giving the XBox a browser?
Never thought about that actually. Here’s to hoping the new Marketplace coming to xbox will have them.
Actually to be honest I’d rather the 360 not have a browser. I’d rather have apps specified directly for an exact purpose rather than have a browser that has choppy experience. I like how they have all the apps separate so you can pick and choose what you actually want.
