In a surprise update that clearly signals Microsoft’s intent to once again bolster it’s entertainment offerings with Xbox Dashboard updates this fall, Microsoft is taking the covers off it’s newly revamped ESPN on Xbox update.

Starting on August 25 ESPN on Xbox users we be able to watch two games in high definition at the same time, as well as control the entire interface using Kinect voice commands. They’ve also borrowed some of our favorite features from set-top boxes by allowing you to pause live games and watch instant replays without having to exit back to the main UI. All in all it’s not a bad update for the sports fan in your family. Sure, we would rather be fragging corrupt cops in “L.A. Noire” then watching Men’s Doubles Tennis but maybe we’re in the minority.
