Mr. Rogers might be retired, but that doesn’t mean users can’t tune in to see their favorite cardigan sweater wearing purveyor of wise advice. Users can now watch their favorite Public Broadcasting shows on their Xbox 360.
Announced today by Xbox Wire, PBS for the Xbox 360 allows users to stream nationally created content like This Old House and their favorite local shows directly to their Xbox 360 free of charge — provided that they have an Xbox LIVE Gold account.
In addition to closed captioning, which is a rare feature on Xbox LIVE applications thus far, users can enter their zip code and stream shows produced by their local PBS station. Now why you’d want to is slightly unclear, not that we’re dissing our local station’s latest episode of Virginia Currents or anything.
