Sure, Microsoft’s Xbox One console may have gotten off to a rather bumpy start this past summer, however if the sales numbers Microsoft announced earlier this weekend are any indication, the company is well on its way to minding its relationship with console buyers.
Over the weekend Microsoft announced that had already sold $1 million consoles — on just Friday.
“Following a worldwide celebration, Xbox One launched in 13 markets on Nov. 22 to great fanfare. The team is excited to confirm the launch of Xbox One was the biggest launch in Xbox history, with more than one million consoles sold through worldwide in less than 24 hours – surpassing day one Xbox 360 sales and setting a new record for Microsoft. ”
Microsoft’s press release on Xbox Wire included some other figures designed to showcase the breadth at which users flocked to the Xbox One at launch. Numbers showcased included 60 million zombies killed in Dead Rising 3, over 3.6 million miles driven in Forza Motorsport 5, Over 7.1 million combos performed in Killer Instinct and 8.5 million enemies defaited in Rise: Son of Rome.
