Verizon FiOS users have been able to watch live television using the company’s FiOS Mobile for some time, however Verizon is now bolstering the app’s selection with even more channels.
As of yesterday, Verizon FiOS customers with a qualifying cable subscription can stream 25 channels to their iPhone, iPad or Android device. Oh and by stream, we mean watch what’s airing on the cable channel in real-time. No waiting for episodes to appear on Verizon’s on-demand video service required.
Channels joining the lineup according to a press release from Verizon include AXS TV, beIN SPORT, beIN Sport Espanol, Bloomberg Television, Cine Sony Television, Cooking Channel, ENCORE, FEARnet, NFL Red Zone, Showtime, Showtime Extreme, Sony Movie Channel, Starz, trinity Broadcast, Universal Sports and the TV Guide Network. The app already included BBC America, BBC World News, EPIX, HGTV, Travel Channel, NFL Network, Food Network, DIY Network and Tennis Channel.
