We sure hope you weren’t planning on buying games online with your PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 or any other PlayStation device before dinner time. The PlayStation Network is down for the next six hours.
To be fair, Sony announced that it’d be taking the gaming and entertainment service down for updates late last week, noting that “If you’ve signed in to PlayStation Network any time since January 20th you will be able to play games online and access partner apps such as Netflix during this maintenance period. The PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home and Account Management will not be available during this time, and users may receive a maintenance notification when attempting to access these services.”
Sony says that it expects normal PlayStation Network operations to resume by 6:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
