If you aren’t French you probably don’t know that today is the 225th anniversary of the storming of the Bastille. French video game developer Ubisoft remembered and it’s celebrating with a new trailer for Assassin’s Creed: Unity.
The new Assassin’s Creed: Unity trailer doesn’t feature much in the way of gameplay. Instead it focuses on the strife that gripped the entirety of France. Shortly before E3 2014 Ubisoft revealed that Assassin’s Creed: Unity takes place during the French Revolution and while the Reign of Terror is still claiming lives. Clearly, Ubisoft is setting up some back story and adding some context for the upcoming game.
Users will play as a new assassin who looks remarkably similar to the character that the trailer ends with. Text at the bottom of the video asks “Who can unmask the hidden enemy? Who will fight and kill for liberty? Unite.” Assassin’s Creed: Unity comes to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on October 28th.
