If you’re one of the millions of Xbox 360 owners who somehow never managed to experience the masterpiece and monument to artful story telling that was Bungie’s Halo Reach, shame on you. That being said you can fix that pretty easily if you have an Xbox Live Gold account. Microsoft’s Games With Gold promotion is handing out free copies of Halo Reach for the rest of September.
As of now, absolutely anyone with an Xbox Live Gold account can add Halo Reach to their digital library of games for the Xbox 360. Halo Reach was the first major follow-up game to Halo: 3. Unlike previous games in the series, the title focused on Noble Team, a group of advanced Spartans, instead of John 117, the series’ main protagonist. Halo Reach was the last Halo game Bungie worked on before it transitioned to developing Destiny.
As with all Xbox Live Games With Gold titles, the copy of Halo Reach added to user’s digital game collection is permanent. As such, even those who stop paying for Xbox Live Gold after downloading will still find that the game works on their console. Microsoft is still offering Crimson Dragon and Super Time Force for free to Xbox One users with an Xbox Live Gold subscription.
