In a new video Microsoft seemingly confirms that Halo 5: Guardians will include character skins and customization for players. It also confirms that anyone who wants to pick up the gear worn by one of the game’s main characters will need to pre-order at retailer GameStop.
Microsoft discusses the GameStop pre-order for Halo 5: Guardians in a post on its Xbox Wire news blog. The armor that Agent Jameson Locke wears in the new Halo 5: Guardians trailer is called Hunter and those who pre-order at GameStop will get a helmet and the armor pieces itself absolutely free. Both pieces are for use in the game’s multiplayer experience. The blog post notes that the armor has “enhanced war fighting technology” and the helmet has enhanced sensors for “situational and threat awareness.” Whether these will translate into actual gameplay advantages in Halo 5: Guardians remains unclear.
Halo 5: Guardians will focus on Agent Locke’s quest to find John 117, the main protagonist in main games. Halo 5: Guardians will launch on October 27th. Microsoft hasn’t said what those who pre-order through the Xbox Store will get.
