You’re a member of a secret government organization entrusted with the lives of thousands after a virus has destroyed civilization as we all know it. You could run, or you could gather some friends and journey into the Dark Zone to snatch up valuable equipment with your squad. Ubisoft’s position on the matter is clear. This weekend on Xbox Live the company is running The Division Beta that everyone has been waiting for.
Officially, The Division Beta actually started yesterday on Xbox One. Today it arrived on PCs running Microsoft’s Windows operating system through Steam and Ubisoft’s own Uplay. When it launches, The Division will likely take its rightful place as the biggest online role-playing game Ubisoft has ever done. The graphics certainly seem solid, but we’re waiting until we can get some hands-on time before making any final judgements about its mechanics and story.
According to Ubisoft, participating in the The Division Beta requires a code. You can get that code by pre-ordering the game through your Xbox or a participating retail outlet, like GameStop. You can also submit your name for a code without buying the game, but only those who have placed a pre-order are guaranteed a space.
The Division launches on the Xbox One on March 8th. You can pre-order the Gold Edition with Season Pass and the Standard Edition in the Xbox Store now.
