With just a week left until Halo Wars 2 reaches store shelves, Microsoft is kicking the game’s release festivities into high gear. This morning the company let loose the Halo Wars 2 launch trailer, and it’s looking better than that entire Halo 5: Guardians story we were treated to a few years ago.
The Halo Wars 2 launch trailer was posted to the Xbox profile on YouTube earlier today. There’s plenty of emotion flowing through the trailer, from Atriox being the crazed strong-man to Captain Cutter explaining to Isabelle why it’s important to fight for the things you value. Halo Wars 2 arrives for everyone on February 21st. On February 17th, buyers of Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition get to pick up their copies of the game. (They’re probably already busy playing the remaster first game in the series that launched in late January at no additional charge.)
Full disclosure, I’ve not played any of Halo Wars 2, but this game’s trailer isn’t looking bad. In fact, I’d wager that it could be better than the story from Halo 5: Guardians. Of course, the problem with that game was that Microsoft spent months teasing a narrative that never materialized, so there’s something to be said for falling prey to good marketing twice.
Halo Wars 2 is coming to both Xbox One and Windows.
