Check your household’s data plan and clear some storage on your Xbox One. You can play Just Cause 3 for free if you have an Xbox Live Gold subscription.
We owe this weekend’s completely free Just Cause 3 play time to Microsoft’s Xbox Live Gold Free Play Days promotion. At regular intervals, Microsoft lets Xbox One owners with an Xbox Live Gold subscription try a game without paying for it beforehand. The game comes complete with Achievements, so you can start the game during Free Play Days and purchase a digital copy at a discount when the promotion ends. Progress made during Free Play Days syncs to your account.
Just Cause 3 takes players to Medici, a fictional nation run by a sadistic dictator. You play as Rico Rodriguez, an intelligence operative that uses a ton of gadgets to free Medici from its authoritarian government on province at a time. Some parts of the environment can be destroyed and the came has a solid physics engine, giving you all you need to make General Di Ravello’s troops look like the clowns they are.
May’s Xbox Live Gold Free Play Days started this morning at 12:01 p.m. Pacific Time. You have until May 6th at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time to try the game. Again, that’s if you have an Xbox Live Gold subscription. Xbox Live Gold costs $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year.
If you don’t have Xbox Live Gold, you can buy Just Cause 3 and all its expansions for $9.00. Just Cause 3 Standard Edition is $6.00.
I got a head start on the game a few weeks ago when Just Cause 3 was part of the Microsoft Store’s Spring Sale. If you think you can beat my record for the longest drift or most enemies killed, do what you gotta do. The game automatically compares your in-game accomplishments to what your friends have done. My gamertag is harlem. Do send screenshots and friend requests.
