Microsoft Celebrates One Year of Kinect

It’s hard to believe that it’s been a solid year since Microsoft introduced the world to it’s “You are the controller.” tagline but according to both my calendar and Microsoft’s Major Nelson, it has indeed been a year. So what are they doing to celebrate the occasion? First they’re debuting, what perhaps may be the best promotional video for a Microsoft product since Kinect’s initial PR blitz, entitled “The Kinect Effect”. Second, Microsoft is announcing that the commercial software development kit for Kinect will be ready early next year.

We think the above graphics says it all. While Kinect will certainly change the way we interact with our computers, it remains to be seen if gaming with it will bring in more casual gamers to the Xbox ecosystem.
