Xbox One and Xbox 360 users are getting Guacamelee & Gotham City Imposters free thanks to their Xbox Live Gold subscription and the Games with Gold promotion that Microsoft launched last year.
Microsoft announced the free games that users could expect last week, but only this week did the new games included in the Games With Gold promotion actually arrive. All month-long Xbox One users with an Xbox Live Gold subscription can download Guacamelee, a zany side-scrolling action game that only arrived in the Xbox Store on July 2nd. Xbox One users can still download Max: The Curse of Brotherhood absolutely free too.
For Xbox 360 users with an Xbox Live Gold subscription there is Gotham City Imposters, an Xbox Live Arcade game that features criminals dressed as different characters from the Batman series in a big giant multiplayer experience. Gotham City Imposters will disappear from the Games With Gold promotion on July 15th when another title will take its place.
Gotham City Imposters will remain in the digital download libraries of Xbox 360 users once they’ve downloaded it — even if they cancel their Xbox Live Gold subscription. The same isn’t true for Xbox One users, Guacamelee and Max: The Curse of Brother will disappear when they stop paying for an Xbox Live Gold account.
