The official start to the 2015 NFL season is still a ways off, but that won’t stop your Facebook timeline and Xbox Live Activity Feed from a stampede of football related content soon. Tonight on Xbox Live the 2015 NFL Pre-Season begins and Xbox One & Xbox 360 users should be able to get in on the action.
The 2015 NFL Pre-Season begins tonight with the Washington Redskins playing the Cleveland Browns at 8PM Eastern Standard Time. Broadcast channel Fox is airing the game, which means every Xbox One console owner with the Hauppauge and Xbox digital TV tuner can watch. Using the OneGuide viewers can get Tweets related to the game from Twitter on their screen in real-time. Cable subscribers can get in on the action too. To watch, just say “Xbox, watch Fox,” if you have a Kinect for Xbox One sensor.
The NFL on Xbox One app will also provide users with livestreaming access to the 2015 NFL Pre-Season thanks to the NFL Network. Unfortunately, the NFL Network is only available to users on Xbox One through the NFL app if they have a cable subscription. Dish Network, Charter, Cox and Verizon Fios and Direct TV are all included. Comcast isn’t. The NFL on Xbox One app can be snapped and configured for scoring updates even if you’re gaming.
Microsoft’s Windows Store also has an NFL app for fans in front of their devices instead of their television screen.
