Microsoft may have renamed its Xbox Video service to Microsoft Movies & TV, but it’s keeping Xbox Video Free Movie Weekends around, it seems. Throughout the weekend Xbox One, Xbox 360, Windows Phone and Windows PC owners can watch Batman: Under The Red Hood absolutely free on their devices.
The free Batman: Under the Red Hood rentals start today. Anyone with access to the Windows Store or the Microsoft Movies & TV app can stream the movie absolutely free of charge. We’re talking, no charges and no gotchas. You do need a Microsoft Account to login to the service with. Batman: Under the Red Hood focuses on the rise of a new vigilante in Gotham City that doesn’t share Batman’s views on criminals facing the ultimate punishment. It wouldn’t be a Batman movie without the Joker, and trust me you’ll want to punch him in the face by the end of the film. (We reviewed the movie in a Saturday Night @ the Movies piece not too long ago.)
Movie rentals and purchases are available to watch online through Microsoft’s Xbox Video website, despite the recent name change. Microsoft Movies & TV does have an iPhone or Android app.
