Saban Entertainment has confirmed that the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie coming in the not-so distant future will attempt to harness the reboot powers of Roberto Orci, Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz. They’re names might not sound familiar, but the projects they worked on will.
Miller and Stentz writing credits include this X-Men: First Class and the first Thor movie that inspired a new generation to pick up a hammer and talk as a thunder-god. Orci worked on The Amazing Spider-Man and Transformers. According to The A.V. Club all three have been pegged for Star Trek 3.
Unfortunately for potential attendees of the Power Morphicon trade show, we still have absolutely no idea when the movie will début. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers the show dominated afternoon ratings on Fox Kids through most of the 1990s. A few years ago Saban Entertainment purchased the rights for Power Rangers back from Disney. New episodes of the show currently air on Nickelodeon in the United States.
