Those that can buy the Xbox One X should head to the Microsoft Store, Best Buy, and other retailers to pick up their pre-orders soon. Those that can’t, can watch tonight’s Xbox One X launch festivities directly from the Xbox One they already own beginning at 11 PM EST.
Microsoft’s Xbox One X launch stream kicks off on Mixer tonight an hour before the Xbox One X’s official midnight launch in New York City. You don’t have to sit in front of your console to enjoy the stream, Mixer is available on iPhones, iPads, Android devices and the web. Microsoft’s Major Nelson confirms that viewers will see some behind the scenes launch footage during the hour-long stream, but not much else.
For the record, I’ll be at home watching the stream as I still have a pretty well-functioning 2TB Xbox One S sitting underneath my television. Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited for 4K gaming, but the 4K Netflix and Hulu Plus my system already provides is enough for right now. Remind me of that fact when I cave sometime before Thanksgiving and buy one anyway.
I expect comparison videos from each and every one of you buying an Xbox One X by tomorrow morning. I’ll accept tomorrow afternoon at the latest.
